2017 Council Spring Camporee

When: May 5-7, 2017
Where: Camp Wanocksett, Dublin, NH
Cost: Preregistered: Boy Scouts & leaders - $8, Webelos with parent $6 (Saturday only) $2 late fee for walk-ins.

The 2017 Spring Camporee will be a collaborative effort between Wachusett and Massasoit Districts. It will be held at Camp Wanocksett. Watch this space for more details.

2017 Merit Badge University

When: February 11, February 25, March 11 9 AM - 12 PM
Where: Fitchburg State University
Cost: $20

The 2017 Merit Badge University will be held on three Saturdays, February 11, February 25, and March 11 at Fitchburg State University. Scouts have the opportunity to work on earning two merit badges over the course of the three days. Registration opens January 1. Class space is limited. Register early.

The following classes are available this year:  Automotive Maintenance, Chess, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Digital Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, First Aid, Genealogy, Music, Oceanography, Photography, Pioneering, Programming, Public Speaking, Sustainability, and Weather.

2018 Philmont Contingent

When: July 10 - 24, 2018
Where: Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimmaron, NM
Cost: $2,100

Nashua Valley Council will send 8 crews to Philmont in 2018. This will permit a total of 96 Scouts and Scouters from Nashua Valley Council to partake in one of Scouting’s most exciting high adventure opportunities. 

The contingent will depart the Boston area on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, arrive at Philmont on Thursday, July 12, 2018 and return home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

The estimated cost is $2,100.00 per individual.  

To request a Crew slot for 2018, a reservation fee of $500.00 per individual in the crew must be received by Carolyn Tobin at the Nashua Valley Council’s office in Lancaster no later than March 1, 2017.  Please submit only one check per crew payable to "Nashua Valley Council, BSA".  The reservation fee must be accompanied by a note containing the name and full contact information (including unit number, email, mailing address and phone numbers) of the adult advisors and include an initial estimate of the number of Scouts and adult Scouters that will comprise the crew.
