Mastering the Online Training System

More and more training for Scouting Volunteers is being added to the e-learning section of This includes vital basic leader training including: Position-specific Training, Fast Start, and Youth Protection. It also includes valuable health and safety training such as Safe-Swim Defence, Safety Afloat, Severe Weather Hazards, Climb On Safely, and Trek Safely.

Each training session involved a 30-45 minute slide/video presentation accompanied by review questions. At the end end of each session you will be presented with a training certificate to print.

As you complete each training module, a record of your training can be recorded in your Scouting membership record. This is especially important for recording mandatory training like Youth Protection. In order to ensure that your training is accurately recorded, please take a few minutes and make sure that your account is set up correctly.

Logging In:

Point your Web browser at You will see the screen below. In order to access e-learning you must have an account on If you have logged in previously then you already have an account. Enter your user name and password and click "Sign In". If you do not have an account you will need to create one by clicking on the button on the right side of the screen.



Completing Your Profile:

Once you have created an account you will need to supply your membership number in order to link your account with your Scouting membership record. This step ensures that your training will be recorded in your membership record. Click on the "View Full Profile" link at the top of the page. This will take you to your user profile.


Select Nashua Valley Council from the list of councils and enter your membership ID number in the space provided.


Your membership ID can be found at the bottom of your membership card. If you do not have a membership card ask your unit leader or unit committee chairperson. Your membersup ID also appears on the unit's copy of the annual charter.


Once you have added your membership number click "ADD" and ensure that the membership number is added to the list at the bottom of the page. Then click "Save Profile" to save your changes.

Once you have you added your membership number, and successfully linked your account with your Scouting membership record you are ready to proceed to e-learning.

Taking the Courses:

To access e-learning click on the "e-learning" link under "Training" on the left side of the screen. From the e-learning page select tab appropriate for your program and then click "Take Course" next to the taining module you wish to take. Each module is different, so follow the module's instructions carefully. You must complete the entire module for it to be recorded in your training record. The module is complete when you are presented with a training certificate that you can print.
