Natural Stacks NeuroFuel Summarized
- Vegan friendly, gluten-free, non-GMO
- Clean formula with light dosages

- Acetyl L-Carnitine may help you with mental clarity and focus
- It has only one ingredient with proven cognitive benefits
- Missing many of the best brain nutrients
- Some ineffective ingredients
- Only 15 servings per bottle
SUMMARY: NeuroFuel by Natural Stacks is a light, safe, and completely natural formula. In our experience, this supplement may help reduce brain fog a bit, and possibly improve your concentration levels.
However, the supplement is missing a lot from its formula to be called a complete nootropic. Most of the ingredients in NeuroFuel are basic nutrients that you’ll find in many foods, and they don’t have any cognitive benefit unless you’re severely deficient in them. Acetyl L-Carnitine, the only ingredient with some level of cognitive benefit in NeuroFuel, is underdosed.
For the price they’re asking, we feel it’s worth doing research to find more comprehensive brain supplements that use proven ingredients in better dosages. You’ll find that these products tend to produce more substantial effects in terms of your memory function, focus, mood, and long-term brain development.
What do we recommend?

Here we have our analysis of NeuroFuel, previously known as CILTEP brain supplement for focus, deep concentration, and improved memory.
NeuroFuel is made by Natural Stacks, a Seattle-based company that specialized in sleep & brain supplements.
NeuroFuel is claimed to fuel your neurotransmitters, enhancing how your brain cells communicate. According to the manufacturer, this should lead to increases in your mental performance within 30 minutes of your first dose.
What we like about NeuroFuel is that it consists of entirely natural ingredients. It’s also a relatively simple and streamlined formula. You get 4 active ingredients, 3 of which are nutrients that you’ll find in abundance in meat, fish, and plant foods. The other ingredient is a herb commonly used in weight loss supplements; we’re a bit surprised to see it included in this product.
This then raises the question; will NeuroFuel have any concrete effects on your cognition? Does it really work?
That’s what we’ve set out to answer in detail in the sections that follow!
Natural Stacks NeuroFuel dosage is 3 capsules per day, with or without food. This means Natural Stacks NeuroFuel will only last you 15 days if you use it daily. At the price of $29.95 per bottle, you’ll have to pay double that amount if you want NeuroFuel to last you a whole month.
Ingredients – What’s Inside Natural Stacks NeuroFuel?
Natural Stacks NeuroFuel only contains four ingredients, they are:
- Vitamin B6 (P5P) (5mg)
- Acetyl L-Carnitine (750mg)
- L-Phenylalanine (500mg)
- Coleus Forskohlii Root Extract (20mg)
As shown on the product label:
Such a simple formula has its pros and cons. The positive is that you’re getting completely natural ingredients, all of which are well-studied, and you also see their dosages clearly on the label – there are no proprietary blends in NeuroFuel. This means the risk of side effects is extremely low. This supplement is safe and shouldn’t cause you issues.
However, most of the ingredients in NeuroFuel are basic vitamins and amino acids you’d get from everyday foods. Vitamin B6, L-Carnitine, and L-Phenylalanine may confer some benefit if you’re eating a diet deficient in these nutrients, but they probably won’t give you a substantial effect.
NeuroFuel is missing a lot from its formula to be called a real “brain fuel.” There are many ingredients out there that promote focus, memory function, and long-term brain development that this formula doesn’t have.
See for yourself.
Vitamin B6 (P5P) (5mg)
Scientists and researchers have been looking into the possible brain benefits of Vitamin B6 for a while now.
Researchers have elaborated on many potential benefits of Vitamin B6, such as improved mood and emotion, better sleep quality, and reduced risk of decline. The research is still ongoing, but so far it seems like this vitamin is a decent tool for brain health. That is, if you aren’t already eating enough of it. If you are, then supplementation is unlikely to result in additional benefits. Foods high in vitamin B6 include pork, fish soy, wheat, oats, bananas.
Some people may experience side effects when taking the vitamin at high doses. These can include nausea and heartburn. However, that won’t be a problem with NeuroFuel as its vitamin B6 dosage is still well within safe limits. Plus, the vitamin B6 NeuroFuel uses is the highly bioavailable Pyridoxal-5-phosphate.
Acetyl L-Carnitine (750mg)
This is the best ingredient in NeuroFuel. L-Carnitine is a compound found in red meat, dairy products, and fish. It is an amino acid that the body needs to process fats and proteins.
In a study conducted at the University of California, L-Carnitine was given to patients who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. This study showed that patients who received L-Carnitine had improved memory and cognition levels.
Acetyl L-Carnitine is the more bioavailable form of L-Carnitine – being able to cross your blood-brain barrier. However, the dosage should be at least 1,000mg for optimal cognitive benefit.
L-Phenylalanine is an amino acid that is considered to be the precursor of dopamine. Dopamine is one of the major neurotransmitters in our brain and it helps regulate our mood, sleep, and appetite. This amino acid can also affect the levels of serotonin in our body which can improve mood and reduce anxiety.
Studies have shown that L-phenylalanine works well for people who are depressed, clinically obese, or obese without other medical conditions. It can also help with insomnia.
Much like with vitamin B6, you won’t gain substantial benefits from this ingredient unless you’re severely deficient in Phenylalanine. Most of us already get plenty of Phenylalanine through our diets, with foods like milk, eggs, cheese, nuts, soybeans, chicken, beef, pork, beans and fish all being excellent sources of the compound.
Coleus Forskohlii Root Extract (20mg)
This is an interesting one. Coleus Forskohlii is an herb you’ll more often see in weight loss supplements. This is due to its positive effects on fat burning. (source: https://examine.com/supplements/coleus-forskohlii/)
Coleus Forskohlii contains a compound called forskolin that has been shown to have potential health benefits in studies and research. As far as brain health goes, it’s not the best ingredient we’ve seen.
Some side effects of taking Coleus Forskohlii include nausea, irritability, and difficulty sleeping.
Our Commentary on Natural Stacks NeuroFuel’s Ingredients
Natural Stacks NeuroFuel contains only one ingredient that may produce a noticeable cognitive effect – Acetyl L-Carnitine. This food-derived amino acid is known to enhance mental clarity and focus in some users and is supported by studies to work.
However, one ingredient alone can only do so much. If you’re looking for comprehensive brain support – including an improvement in memory function, better mood & mindset, enhanced information processing, and long-range brain protection, NeuroFuel may not be your ideal candidate.
The formula is missing Phosphatidylserine, Choline, vitamin D, and other core ingredients that are proven to substantially affect brain performance across all areas. After all, this is why the best brain supplements on the market use these ingredients.
Natural Stacks NeuroFuel reviews can easily be found on sites like Amazon, where it has an average score of 4.1/5 stars.
Most users are happy with how safe and light NeuroFuel is. Reports of side effects are rare. That being said, there are also some users who thought NeuroFuel didn’t give them the effects they hoped for.
Here are a few testimonials that stood out to us:
“I REALLY wanted to see a difference in using this product. I’ve listened to multiple podcasts from people I’ve come to trust/rely on their opinion- so I ordered this and tried it as I thought it would be beneficial for my son and I that suffer from distraction. Sadly, I’ve noticed no change in my ability to muscle through my task list or see any noticeable difference when I take it and when I don’t. Too bad.” – Amazon Customer
“This product here I’m going to be honest when it works for me it’s great I feel like I have a lot of focus and drive but it just doesn’t work everyday for me I don’t know why that is.” – Amazon Customer
“I got brilliant results from two capsules first thing after waking on an empty stomach. Improved mood, felt more focused, more energetic. Rather than shell out forty bucks for a second jar I built my own stack using individual components, and I’m happy to report that the effects have continued. I can now get the same good results for less than a third of the price.” – Corey H.
“I felt no effects from this at all, would not purchase again.” – Amazon Customer
Pricing & Other Things to Consider
NeuroFuel is available on its official website as well as on Amazon. Depending on where you buy it the price can vary.
On the official website, NeuroFuel costs $29.95 for a one-time purchase. However, you can save 20% if you subscribe to a monthly delivery.
The price is fairly inexpensive. Still, for what it’s offering, NeuroFuel isn’t excellent value for money in our opinion.
You’re essentially paying $30 for a couple of amino acids found in everyday foods, a single B vitamin, and a low-dose Coleus Forskolin extract which has no effects on cognition. Safe to say there are definitely better products in this price range on the market today.
NeuroFuel may not be the most effective nootropic formula out there, but it’s extremely safe. The ingredients in NeuroFuel are all well-studied, and some of them are found in foods we eat on a daily basis. Therefore, the risk of negative reactions from using NeuroFuel is extremely low.
With all of that said, consult with your general practitioner before using NeuroFuel for the first time in case you have any doubts about the product.
Conclusion to Natural Stacks NeuroFuel REVIEW
NeuroFuel is a clean, light, and natural food-based brain formula. However, the benefits of NeuroFuel don’t live up to the hype it’s been getting online.
The ingredients it uses are basic nutrients that don’t have substantial nootropic effects. You’d have to be extremely deficient in vitamin B6 and phenylalanine in order to gain any noticeable benefit from supplementation. The only ingredient in NeuroFuel that may give you a cognitive effect is Acetyl L-Carnitine. Then again, you can simply buy a carnitine supplement for a much cheaper price than that of NeuroFuel.
All things considered, NeuroFuel is missing many of the best natural ingredients to be called a complete brain formula, or “brain fuel.” There are better products on the market right now that use more effective ingredients, in better doses. You’ll find these should give you a higher level of cognitive boost – including focus, memory function, mood, and long-range brain support.
