Primal Mind Fuel vs Alpha Brain Summary:

Today we’ll be looking into two products that aim to do the same thing at a very different price point. Is cheaper better or does paying more mean you get more back? These are all hard questions in general, but when looking at these two products we’d say that paying more will get you more in this case. Alpha Brain(the more expensive product) isn’t full of proprietary blends that don’t tell you any dose found within, which is the case with Primal Mind Fuel. Despite being the winner, however, Alpha Brain is not among the best nootropics we’ve seen.

About the Products

Primal Mind Fuel

B Vitamins Blend

When it comes to vitamins in supplements B vitamins are almost always a good choice. Not only are they important for your health and well-being but they provide you with many benefits most people are looking for. Vitamin B is important for breaking down carbohydrates and transporting nutrients throughout the body. If your body doesn’t have the right levels of Vitamins B psychological and neurological functioning will be impaired. Another great benefit of these vitamins is that they benefit your mood and reduce stress.

Proprietary Blend

It’s sad to see that the rest of Primal Mind Fuel is a proprietary blend. As we always say, proprietary blends are awful and usually a sign that the product in question isn’t good. This is because the products look sketchy and shady for not telling you the amounts of each ingredient resulting in you not being sure if the dosage will have any effect on you.

With this being said let’s look at a couple of ingredients that we like from Primal Mind Fuel despite not knowing if their dose will be enough to bring you any benefits.

Rhodiola Rosea Extract

This ingredient has been used for centuries at this point. Recently it has gained popularity in natural supplements as it improves your body’s response to both physical and emotional stress.

Caffeine Anhydrous

Apart from having a slightly different name to regular Caffeine it behaves the same and gives us the same results. You most likely know the jitters, improved attention, alertness, and other benefits you get when drinking coffee. You can expect the same from this ingredient.

Bacopa Monnieri Extract

This plant has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Bacopa might increase certain brain chemicals that are involved in thinking, learning, and memory.

Alpha Brain

Vitamin B6

We already stated the benefits that B Vitamins will bring you in general. Unlike Primal Mind Fuel though, Alpha Brain only offers you one Vitamin B instead of 3.

Onnit Flow Blend

This proprietary blend is focused on promoting alpha brain wave function.
L-Tyrosine is an ingredient often used in nootropics. Its role is to help your body produce neurotransmitters which then help your nerve cells to communicate.
L-Theanine can help you reduce anxiety, but the research that backs this uses a dose almost as big as 1/3 of this blend.
Oat Straw has some potential for improving attention and concentration, but the studies used doses double this whole blend and the participants had existing cognitive problems.
Phosphatidylserine is taken to try to prevent memory loss and mental decline that may occur as you get older. A couple of studies suggest it might help boost your brain power.
Cat’s Claw root and bark contain chemicals that might stimulate the immune system, kill cancer cells, and fight viruses. Other uses aren’t researched and therefore we can’t be certain it will benefit you in any other way.

Onnit Focus Blend

Alpha GPC supports the function of a key neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. Its use in this blend is for supporting focus and increasing mental function.
Bacopa might increase certain brain chemicals that are involved in thinking, learning, and memory.
Toothed Clubmoss might prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine. As we previously stated this is a key neurotransmitter so we want to keep it to improve focus and increase mental function.

Onnit Fuel Blend

L-Leucine is a BCAA and will therefore only benefit your muscles. BCAA’s increase muscle mass and help with muscle recovery.
Pterostilbene has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory benefits, and anticarcinogenic properties leading to improved function of normal cells and inhibition of malignant cells. The antioxidant benefit could mean that Pterostilbene can protect your brain from damage caused by free radicals.

Primal Mind Fuel vs Alpha Brain: Ingredients

When it comes to the ingredients we would pick Alpha Brain as a clear winner. The reasoning behind this is simple.

Alpha Brain seems like a more transparent product only hiding a couple of dosages while Primal Mind Fuel only tells us the dose of its B Vitamins.

As far as ingredients go both products could do better, but from what we’ve seen as long as the unknown dosages are right both products should give you some benefits.

Primal Mind Fuel vs Alpha Brain: Safety & Quality

When it comes to safety both products are made from natural ingredients that aren’t dangerous. The one thing to note is that Primal Mind Fuel doesn’t tell you how much of each ingredient is being used so if you are using multiple supplements or don’t react the best to some ingredients you can’t know how safe it is for you.

Primal Mind Fuel vs Alpha Brain: Customer Reviews

As far as customer satisfaction goes we can see that Alpha Brain is the more popular supplement out of these two.

Price & Where to Buy

The price of Primal Mind Fuel is $34 a bottle making it the far cheaper option out of these two. A bottle of Alpha Brain will set you back $80 making it more than twice as expensive. Both of these products can be found widely. Some of the places are Amazon, Walmart, their official sites, and other sites that sell supplements.

Final Thoughts

Even when we take the price into consideration we feel like Alpha Brain is the better option out of the two. Yes, it does cost more than two times as Primal Mind Fuel, but unlike Primal Mind Fuel it doesn’t hide all the ingredients behind a proprietary blend and that makes it a clear win for us immediately. Another thing is that we like the ingredients of Alpha Brain more with only being disappointed that it doesn’t have more B vitamins as opposed to Primal Mind Fuel.

With that being said, Alpha Brain is using some ineffective and unproven ingredients and is missing some core ingredients like CDP-Choline, Phosphatidylserine, and Lion’s Mane Mushroom to name a few. With some research, you can find better nootropics at this price range.
